Margaret Heart of Mercy Foundation is a registered not-for-profit organization that is exempted from the Federal Income Tax under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We help youth with poverty eradication, education, shelter for the homeless, and disease eradication. We want to let them know that we care.
The level of poverty in many Nigerian communities is enormous and is responsible for the lack of social and economic development of these communities. We want to do something about it because we believe in our people. We believe that they are resilient, and when given the right tools and opportunities, they will become independent and productive.
Mission
MHOM Foundation protects the rights of children and adolescents. We do whatever it takes to help them survive, thrive, and fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.
MHOM is a non-profit organization committed to providing well-designed relief efforts and resources to reduce the burden of hunger, with a long-term vision of eradicating poverty. We want to work very hard to provide educational opportunities to the youth who live in communities with limited or no access to educational resources.
Vision
MHOM Foundation envisions preserving and expanding the good works it has started for the youth.
Our Founder: Margaret A Duru
Margaret Heart of Mercy Foundation is inspired by the good heart of our late mother, Mrs. Margaret A Duru, who, during her life spent on earth, was committed to loving and caring for all people, irrespective of their backgrounds, social, or economic status. Her heart was filled with mercy and goodness. Her exemplary life of showing kindness and mercy gave rise to this organization. Her legacy is the foundation of this organization, and we hope to preserve and expand her legacy.
CORE VALUES
The core value of MHOM Foundation is that we affirm that every man, woman, and child are created equal and special, and having no equal chances and opportunities should not make anyone less of a human being.
We believe in treating everyone with respect, dignity, and empathy.
